Get to know Este Darin-Cooper
Este is passionate about growing investment in the Australian cultural sector, and building sustainable, effective and resilient organisations. She has been deeply connected to the arts and funding community as a board member, coach, adviser, philanthropist and advocate.
Este’s career spans law, technology, social investment and the arts. After studying Law/Engineering at the University of Melbourne, she practiced at top-tier commercial law firms, before specialising in data and emerging technology in a role with the Federal Government. More recently Este worked in the Consulting team at Social Ventures Australia where she provided strategy and social impact measurement consulting services to the not for profit sector. Then, as Director of Venture Philanthropy, she partnered with funders and early-stage community-led organisations to resource, prove and grow more effective models for addressing disadvantage. She also led the team’s design and delivery of coaching and mentoring support to social sector leaders working in urban and regional settings, and across cultural groups.
Este is the co-founder and director of her own philanthropic foundation that invests in the arts. As part of this, she has built collaborative partnerships with the arts sector, designed innovative investments in cultural organisations, and been a leader in next-generation philanthropy.
She participated in the 2019 Arts Leaders program through the Australia Council for the Arts, is a board director of Force Majeure and serves on the Atelier Council at AGNSW.
